A pattern is a prepared group of blocks. It saves layout work while leaving you with ordinary WordPress content to edit. RoarWP patterns use core blocks and are free to copy.
Insert a pattern in WordPress
Open the page or post in the block editor. Use the + block inserter, open Patterns, and choose a relevant pattern. Insert it at the intended position, then use List View to inspect the blocks it added.
Replace the example headings, links and images. A pattern is a starting point; its wording is not a substitute for information about your own site. Preview the page before publishing.
Themes can supply their own patterns, and the WordPress Pattern Directory supplies additional options. Check the required blocks before using a pattern that depends on a plugin.
Copy a RoarWP pattern
- Open a pattern page and inspect its preview and usage notes.
- Select Copy pattern. If clipboard access is unavailable, use the raw markup field and copy it manually.
- In a draft page, select a blank insertion point and paste. WordPress can recognize serialized block markup from the clipboard.
- If your browser inserts it as plain text, open the editor's Code editor, paste the markup at the intended location, then return to the Visual editor.
- Replace every example link and image. Save as a draft and check the public preview on desktop and mobile.
Pasted layouts are ordinary independent blocks, not automatically registered synced patterns. An image pointing to a RoarWP demo asset remains a remote URL until you replace it with a Media Library image.
Choose synced or unsynced
Use a synced pattern for content that should remain the same wherever it is used, such as business hours. Editing it updates its other occurrences. Before saving, consider every page that uses it.
Use an unsynced or Standard pattern for a reusable arrangement whose copies need different content. Changing a copy does not update other copies.
To save your own pattern, select the relevant blocks, open their options and choose Create pattern. Name it and choose the syncing behavior. With a block theme, manage user patterns through Appearance → Editor → Patterns → My patterns. Theme patterns can be duplicated into editable user patterns.
Why the result can look different
Your theme supplies fonts, content widths, block defaults and sometimes extra styles. These affect a pattern's rendering. RoarWP previews use a documented neutral stylesheet; they do not promise identical results in every theme.
Start customization with the outer Group: adjust background, padding and width. Then adjust the inner headings and buttons. Keep heading levels appropriate to the page and verify link contrast.
For a repeated header or footer that controls site structure, use a template part. A synced content pattern and a shared structural part solve different problems.
